According to the Office of National Statistics 60% of Internet users 16 or over go online daily, a rise of 48% in four years. The most common use for 85% of users is checking email and looking for information online for 81% of users.

In 2006, 44% of adult Internet users had purchased something personal  /private online. Top purchases for 51% of users was connected to travel or holidaying.
