Googles Caffeine Dose Starts in the New Year

Search Engines

There has been a buzz about the new Google update Caffeine that will soon be emerging across Google Data Centres. Google Say it is one of their biggest updates since the Florida update in 2003. Though it is suggested that the results users receive will not be hugely different. Those webmasters and businesses that count on first page results of Google for users to find their products and services on the Web can be understandably anticipatory.

When google update their index, which can alter the ranking of results during searches, it means that results can be listed differently because of changes made by Google. Therefore the ultimate number one position held for a product or service can be lost or gained. Currently only considering only testing this on one data centre before christmas however, Google has said that the new update Caffeine will not roll out fully into Google Data Centres until the new year. Therefore those all important rankings in Google during the period until Christmas, should not be challenged by Googles latest update Caffiene at least.
