How Does Google Instant Effect AdWords and SEO?
PPC ManagementGoogle say that Google Instant will increase AdWords impressions. As the user types a search phrase both AdWords ads and the natural search listings will alter dependant on the search phrase revealed at any instant. Therefore broader terms will first reveal ads and search results followed by longer tail search terms, as the system uses predicted search, which will change based on what Google predicts the search will be depending on what the user types in the search box.
This could therefore increase bidding for the broader one and two word phrases, as competition to have ads appear first is likely to increase. Google Instant will further personalise the users search, meaning that the user is more likely to edit there search based on the feedback of results. It will therefore return more results to the user throughout the search. It may be that because the user is served with more suggestions, it will widen the search input made by the user and therefore expand the number of searches per session or make them more targeted. If the latter occurs this will serve to move the user away from searching with the 'glory keyword' phrases, helping them expand to a more targeted search.
