UK consumers tackle the credit crunch online
EcommerceUK consumers are adapting their online behaviour in order to face the financial challenges brought on by the credit crunch. Latest research from the Experian company Hitwise highlights areas for which UK consumers are changing there online search patterns to find the best deals and prioritise spending.
Three Key areas have been identified:
1) Increased Search for cheaper discounted products, price comparison, cashback and voucher websites.
2) Reduction in property searches and increased search for Home and Garden Web sites; with an increase in DIY related search terms that suggest consumers are looking to conduct their home improvements on a budget.
3) No increase in searches for ethical consumer products, such as Organic and fair trade. Yet energy efficiency improvements such as loft insulation and under floor heating are on the increase as well as searches for Gas and electric best deals.
